Employment Law - Compromise agreements
Compromise agreements are becoming increasingly popular, particularly in the current climate. They amount to a written contract between you and your employer, where you contract out of claims that you may have against your employer, usually for financial compensation.
Your employer should offer to pay your legal costs, or a contribution toward them, in order for you to obtain independent legal advice on the compromise agreement.
We would be happy to meet with you to advise you on your compromise agreement, and to help you decide whether signing it is in your best interest. We will consider any claims that you may have, and whether they are worth pursuing. We will also consider the cost and time that would be involved if you decided to pursue a claim, and how easy it will be for you to find a new job, to establish whether signing the agreement really is in your best interests. If you decide that you do not wish to bring a claim, we will consider the content of the agreement with you, to make sure you know your rights if you do sign it.
Please contact us on 01924 291111 or using melissa@gmwilson.co.uk to arrange an appointment to discuss your compromise agreement with us.
