Grants of Representation
Often, there are situations where it is necessary to obtain a grant of representation in an estate to deal with only one or a small number of assets.
Depending on whether or not there is a valid will, there are different types of grants that can be obtained. If there is a valid will, a grant of probate is likely to be the most appropriate grant. If a will does not exist, a grant of letters of administration would be more appropriate. The grant of representation gives legal authority to the executors or administrators to deal with the administration of the estate.
