David Brooke LLB.(Hons) Solicitor and Senior Partner: Educated in Wakefield and living in or around Wakefield all his life, David acquired the Practice from its founder Mr. G M Wilson in 1985 having spent his early career with the respected Leeds practice of C W Nelson & Co. Specialising in Property, Business matters and also Wills & Probate he has the seen the firm grow steadily over the years and in that time retain many fledgling clients who have also grown and developed into substantial businesses.
In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, watching Leeds United and most other sports.

Solicitor and Partner James deals with Corporate/Commercial, Commercial Property and Residential Conveyancing. His main area of specialism is business transaction work including acquisitions, disposals and long leases. He also has extensive experience of negotiating and preparing a wide range of commercial contracts.
James enjoys football and cricket in his spare time and is an F.A. Authorised Player Agent.

Solicitor and Partner Andrew joined the firm from Sheffield University Law School in July 2008 after completing the Legal Practice Course. He was trained by the firm and works in our Conveyancing and Wills & Probate Departments. He deals with making wills, applying for grants of probate and generally in the administration of estates. He can offer services to those wishing to buy and sell property whether as an individual, developer or builder.
Outside of work Andrew is a keen sportsman, a follower of Newcastle United and a fan of Alan Partridge. He enjoys playing hockey, football and surfing.

Solicitor and Partner Patrick studied Law at Bournemouth University before completing the Legal Practice Course at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice.
He qualified as a solicitor in 2008. Patrick's areas of speciality are Contractual Litigation (including the supply of goods and services), Property Litigation, Landlord & Tenant disputes, Personal Injury and Insolvency Law.
Patrick enjoys playing football and tennis.

Sandra is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and has over 20 years experience in residential conveyancing. She is very well known and highly regarded in the local area. Sandra returned to local practice as she believes in the high level of customer service that is not always possible to provide in a larger firm.

Philippa Hulse

Philippa studied at Newcastle University and then at the College of Law in York. She was awarded First Class Honours in the Law Society's 1993 Solicitors' Final Examinations and qualified as a Solicitor in 1995. Having previously worked in Barnsley, Philippa returned to practice and joined G M Wilson in March 2008. She specialises in all aspects of Wills, Probate and the administration of estates, Trusts, lifetime gifts and settlements, Inheritance Tax advice and estate planning, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection work and advice in relation to long term care. Philippa works from both our Wakefield and Barnsley offices.
Philippa enjoys the great outdoors, gardening, walking, the theatre, eating out, holidays and spending time with her young family .
Melissa Cook

Trainee Solicitor Melissa is experienced in working in employment law matters, and can deal with matters such as unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, discrimination, family-friendly rights, grievance and disciplinary procedures, unlawful deduction of wages.
Melissa was trained at BPP Law School in Leeds, and spent several years working for a city firm before moving to GM Wilson to start her training contract in 2011.

Corrie has over 11 years’ experience dealing with many different types of property transactions. Corrie joined G M Wilson solicitors in 2010 from a large Leeds based firm where she managed the Conveyancing department of 16 staff. Specialising in all type of transactions including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, re-mortgages and problems with titles and can deal with freehold, leasehold and shared ownership matters, Corrie is happy in her work and goes over and above for all clients.
Corrie prides herself in a modern and friendly approach to conveyancing and has built up strong relationships with local estate agents and financial advisors.
In her own time Corrie enjoys competing with her horse and spending time with her loyal Border terrier, Bubble.
